Akshay Kumar is back again with his another film titled “Khel Khel Mein.” This month, already his “Sarfira” was released, and as usual, it was a huge disaster. Although the film was very good, it was a remake of 2020 Surya-starrer “Soorarai Pottru.” The situation is like public seems to be bored of watching both remakes and Akshay Kumar’s films.
It’s understandable because the saturation of Akashay Kumar’s films is so high that people are simply ignoring them. In April, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” was released, in July “Sarfira” came out, and now in August, “Khel Khel Mein” is set to be released alongside the highly anticipated “Stree 2.” After that, he has two more films lined up are for this year. “Skyforce” in October and “Welcome 3” in December. So, people don’t have the desire to watch his films.
Is “Khel Khel Mein” Really A Remake ?
“Khel Khel Mein” is already clashing with “Stree 2,” which is a huge disadvantage for the film. But then we came to know that it is also a remake. Yes, you heard it right. It is an official remake of the 2016 Italian comedy-drama “Perfect Strangers,” and the bizzare thing is that this film has already been remade by more tham twenty times. Even the “Drishyam” director Jeethu Joseph made a Malayalam remake titled “12th Man.”
Now the question is, in the era of ott platforms, when people can access any movie from their homes, Will they go to theatres to watch a remake ? Who knows ? But looking at Akshay Kumar’s previous remakes like “Bachchhan Paandey,” “Cuttputlli,” “Selfiee,” and “Sarfira,” all of them were ultra disasters.
The director of the film is Mudassar Aziz, who has directed decent movies like “Pati Patni Aur Woh” and “Happy Bhaag Jayegi.” But even If “Khel Khel Mein” turns out to be a good movie, its chance of success is nearly zero.
