Who is Kalki Avatar ?
Before knowing about Kalki Avatar, we must know who Kalki actually is. According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Brahma is the creator of the universe, Lord Shiva is the destroyer while Lord Vishnu is the protector and preserver of the universe. His role is to maintain balance between good and evil.
To maintain this balance, Lord Vishnu takes birth on earth several times. He took various incarnations in some ages which include Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parshurama, Rama and Krishna but his 10th avatar which is the most destructive incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is called the Kalki avatar.
Kalki is often shown as a warrior riding a white horse, wielding a sword, who is a symbol of destruction of evil and restoration of virtue. His real name is Sree Veerabhoga Vasantharaya (the name means, rain of hail and stones). His parents would be Vishnuyasha and Sumati. He will likewise have three senior siblings Sumanth, Pragya, and Kavi and it is said that Lord Kalki will go to Sinhala which is now commonly known as SriLanka and he will marry Padma there and have four children Jai, Vijay, Megmal, and Balahak.
Lord Kalki is mentioned to carry a 4 feet long double edged sword named “Ratnamaru”, a celestial bow by name “Karmukam” a parrot named “Shukha and a horse “Devdutta” that can fly at the speed of light and all of this will be gifted to him by Lord Shiva.
Leaving Kalki aside, all the incarnations have already appeared, who will appear at the end of Kaliyuga. In order to restore the cosmic order, he will descend on earth in the Kalki avatar. Lord Kalki will eradicate evil and revive Dharma, thereby marking the end of Kali Yuga and the beginning of Satya Yuga.
When will Kalki Avatar Born ?
According to Chiranjeevi Markandeya, Kalki will come to earth when religion will disappear from the world and the whole world will be filled with greed and violence. At that time vaidik religion will be comletely destroyed, good qualities like mercy, love, good conduct and shame will vanish. Terrorism, robbery, murder, rape, all of this will become common. 1) People will disrespect the Vedas and will not follow the fasts. No one would be able to understand even the slightest thing about the Vedas. People will not only stop worshipping God but will even forget His name. The worship of gods will be completely ceased and instead the worship of the ruler will be done.
2) All men will become members of one common order. The ruler will take pleasure in punishing his subjects. Even after attacking innocent people and torturing them, they will not get any relief and instead these people will loot the wives and money of good and honest people.
3) Parents will kill their children and the children will kill their parents. Husband – wife will not be happy with their better halves. Wives will not serve their husbands. To the extent that the wife will behave rudely with her husband and will want to control him.
4) People will suffer from ill health and dangerous diseases. They will start dying at the age of 16-20 years. Adultery will grow. Girls of 5-6 years of age will give birth to children and boys of 7-8 years of age will become fathers.
5) The rulers of the state will be criminals and robbers. Kings will grab public money, and blood of honest people will be sucked in the name of taxes. Saints will drop their responsibilities and seek wealth and worldly desires. Corruption and other irregularities will be prevalent in the administration. The public in general will be full of material desires, without any desire to work hard. Everyone will try to mug each other.
6) People will leave their homes and settle on the banks of rivers or seas. Humans will only eat fish and drink the milk of sheep and goats because by that time there will be no cows left on earth.
7) Solar eclipse will be without amavasya. Earth’s temperature will increase significantly. The rain will change its course and become irregular and there will be chaos and uproar all around, and there will be fires everywhere.
This is the time when Lord Vishnu incarnates as Kalki and destroys all the sinners residing in the world and then restores dharma.
When will Kalki avatar born on earth ?
Now the biggest question arises that exactly at what time is Kalki avatar going to be born. According to Hindu scriptures, the four cycles Satya Yuga, Terta Yuga, Dwapar Yuga, and Kali Yuga rotate just like our calendar months. The current time is Kali Yuga and it is believed that it will last for 432000 years. It is said that 5000 years have already passed since the battle of Kurukshetra. This means that Lord Kalki still has 427000 years left to arrive.
Although The exact timing of Kalki’s birth is a subject of great debate and speculation. Some predictions suggest that he will descend to Earth in the month of Baisakhi. It is also believed that when Lord Kalki will be born, it will be the 12th day after the full moon day.
According to this, we can guess that Kalki can appear on earth anytime between 26th April to 15th May since the Baishaki month starts from 14th or 15th of April and last until 14th or 15th of May. This means that if Lord Kalki’s birth occurs 12 days from the full moon day, then there is a high probability that Lord Kalki will arrive on earth between 26th April and 15th May.
Where will Kalki avatar born ?
Scriptural accounts state that Lord Kalki will be born in a village named Shambhala situated in north India. However, the exact geographical location of Shambhala is a matter of mystery and myth. Some accounts suggest that it might be a hidden or mythical place potentially beyond the reach of normal humans.
Lord Kalki’s mother’s name is Sumati and his father is Vishnuyasha. Vishnuyasha is the avatar of Swayambhu Manu. Swayambhu Manu had performed tapasya on the banks of Gomti river and on receiving the boon, he had asked God to take birth in the form of his son in three of his avatars. Thus, Swayambhu Manu took birth in the form of King Dasharatha and Lord Narayana took birth in the form of his son Lord Rama. In the second incarnation, Swayambhu Manu took birth in the form of Vaasudeva and Lord Narayana took avatar as Lord Krishna and in a definite form, Swayambhu Manu will take birth as Vishnuyasha and Lord Narayana will take the avatar as Lord Kalki.
Why Kalki Avatar Will Born ?
The main purpose of Kalki is to reestablish religion and to eradicate the evil. As the world progresses towards lawlessness and moral degradation, Kalki will wield a powerful sword to defeat evil forces including the demon Kali. His birth marks the end of darkness and the beginning of satya yuga.
If we look at it in more details. According to Hinduism, it is said that the main objective of Lord Vishnu’s coming to earth in the form of Lord Kalki will be to destroy Kali who in reality represents an evil person. As Kali Yuga progresses, it is believed that the society will fall into deep moral and ethical degradation.
It is said that when Kalki will come to earth, he will kill all the thieves and barbarians and will create a peaceful place for the earth to live. The primary aim of Kalki’s incarnation is to cleanse this deteriorating world, defeat evil forces and establish a new era of truth and good conduct, through which the cosmic balance will be re-established.
It has also been said in Shreemad Bhagavatam that Kalki will gain victory over the evil king Kali and after defeating Kali in the war, he will hand over the rule to Devapi and Maru who will be the most religious kings of Kaliyuga.
Is Kalki avatar already born ?
“Is kalki avatar already born ?”….. This question generates much curiosity and debate. Some spiritual leaders and religious groups claim that Kalki has already been born or is currently living among us. But the real answer is…
Not yet, we need to understand few things here before understanding the appearance of Lord Kalki.
When Lord Kalki will be born, at that time the general public will not be in a position to accept his incarnation. We will not be able to discuss on internet, whether Kalki has appeared or not.
Today, in the year 2024 of the Gregorian calendar, we have various hard and soft copies of Kalki Purana, Bhagavat Purana, Vishnu Purana, Bhavishy Purana and many other scriptures, which are related to the manifestation of Kalki avatar. However, when the proper time will come for the appearance of the Lord, there will be no scriptures left (either digital copies or hard cover), thus people would have completely forgotten, whether any conception of Avatara called “Kalki” was predicted in the scriptures.
Will Kalki born in 2025 ?
Some people estimate that Lord Kalki will be born sometime around April 2025. However, there is no concrete evidence to support such claims. This prediction of Kalki’s birth in 2025 is not supported by any established Hindu scriptures or authoritative source. Such predictions often arise from modern interpretations, anastronomical analyses or power theories rather than traditional scriptural timelines.
His arrival is expected in the future, at a time when the world is immersed in corruption and spiritual decline. Until then, we await for his divine intervention. Mainstream Hindu theology believes that considering the long period of Kaliyug, the arrival of Kalki is still to happen.
Is Kalki Avatar a woman ?
Traditionally, Kalki has been depicted as a male warrior riding a white horse. However, interpretations may vary, and some believe that Kalki can manifest in any form, transcending gender. The essence lies in his mission rather than physical attributes.
In contemporary discussions, some people argue that the spiritual nature of incarnations means that their characteristics can be beyond gender. However, the scriptural evidence does not clearly support the idea of Kalki being a woman.
