Deadpool & Wolverine Beat Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira Lifetime Collection on The First Day

Two weeks ago Akshay kumar’s “Sarfira” was released in the theatres. Despite being a good movie, it didn’t perform well at the box office because it was a remake of Surya’s 2020 film “Soorarai Pottru.” The film earned 22.50 crore net in India and 31 crore gross worldwide.

Munjya Beats Akshay Kumar

Almost two months ago, Maddock films’ “Munjya” was released with a complete unknown starcast. The movie not only surpassed “Sarfira” but also beat Akshay Kumar’s biggest film of his career, “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” with earning over 100 crore net and 125 crore worldwide gross. In comparison Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s lifetime collection was 66 crore net and 112 crore worldwide.

Kill Beats Akshay Kumar

One month ago, “Kill” was released. Despite featuring a new cast without any major stars, the movie has already done business of 22 Crore India net and almost 45 Crore worldwide gross. “Kill” is performing steadily at the box office and is expected to surpass “Sarfira” in a few days.

It is quite surprising to see newcomers like Lakshya (Kill) Abhay Verma (Munjya) not only competing with Akshay kumar but outperforming him significantly.

Deadpool & Wolverine Beats Akshay Kumar (Very Badly)

All of these achievements were nothing until the release of Deadpool & Wolverine. The film earned 22 crore net on it’s first day, nearly surpassing Sarfira’s lifetime collection on day one. What can we say ? A Hollywood film from one of the longest-running film franchises, which doesn’t typically appeal to most Indian audiences, is outperforming a Akshay kumar’s movies lifetime collection in a single day.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” earned over 1000 crore worldwide on its first day. Despite receiving mixed reviews, there is no sign of the box office tsunami stopping. In India, it is expected to earn over 23 crore net on its second day and over 70 crore net in the first weekend, with a gross collection of over 85 crore.
