VD12: Vijay Deverakonda’s Film Announces New Release Date with an Intense Poster

After giving three back-to-back flops, Vijay Deverakonda is returning to the big screen with his next ambitious project, VD12, starring Vijay Deverakonda, Rukmini Vasanth, and Bhagyashri Borse. The last we saw him was portraying the role of Arjun in “Kalki 2898 AD.” The movie has garnered a huge box office number of almost 1100 crore, and everyone has liked his role.

His last three films, “Liger,” “Kushi,” and “Family Star,” had pathetic box office numbers due to below-average quality. Somehow, “Kushi” and “Family Star” are average films, but “Liger,” starring Ananya Pandey, is just unwatchable.

Vijay has a hefty amount of potential as an actor, as he has done some notable films in his career, including “Yevade Subramanyam,” “Pelli Choopulu,” “Arjun Reddy,” “Mahanati,” “Geetha Govindam,” “Dear Comrade,” and recently in “Kalki 2898 AD.” Vijay as an actor has not failed in his flop films, but his script choices do.

But now we think Vijay is back on track as he recently unveiled the new poster for his upcoming action thriller, where he wrote, “His Destiny awaits him. Mistakes. Bloodshed. Questions. Rebirth.”

Previously, we thought this would just be an action thriller, but now we know there will be a reincarnation angle, which increases interest in the film even more. The film will be directed by the “Jersey” director Gowtam Tinnamuri and produced by Sitara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios. The film was announced on Vijay’s birthday, May 9.

A week ago, we got an update that 60% of the shooting has already been completed and they were filming in Sri Lanka. They confirmed that the official announcement was coming very soon.

Vijay has an unbelievable fanbase among Telugu-speaking audiences, but he also has a strong fanbase among Hindi audiences. So if the promotional materials turn out good, it is going to take a decent opening in North India. The film, VD12, which is still untitled, will be released on March 28, 2025.
